About 43 million Americans have some type of disability, and most workplaces have a few people with physical and mental challenges. The Americans with Disabilities Act and similar state laws prohibit employers from discriminating against qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities. These laws also require employers to make reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals. What is considered a reasonable accommodation is changing all the time. A manager's failure to reasonably accommodate a qualified individual can lead to lawsuits and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements.
This course teaches managers and supervisors to "issue spot" disability issues and gives them practical skills to confidently and effectively handle reasonable accommodation issues.
